Appreciative Joy
I am bad at getting jealous of other people’s success, but this recent post from the New Happy resonated.
They suggest finding appreciative joy:
When something good happens to (your closest loved ones), pause and put yourself in their shoes. Imagine, in as much detail as you can, the joy that they are feeling. Allow that joy to fill you up, immersing yourself in the happiness that they are experiencing.
I’m hopeful in this practice, even though at the start, I think it will be challenging. However, by practicing it, I may find something to slow down or stop my envious streak.
