Do you know who's telling your story?
Understanding it makes your writing stronger.
Even if it is third-person omniscient or limited, there is a specific worldview that you are showing.
Do you know who it is and where it came from?
What's its history? What brought it to this point in time?
How much does it know?
What doesn't it know?
How much access does it have to the other characters' thoughts and opinions?
What time is it from?
What does it value?
What are its morals?
Is it judgmental?
All of these questions matter when you tell the story from any point of view. You must understand it and write your fiction from there. It will make your storytelling more coherent.
Good luck.
