Don't forget to say thank you
You’d be surprised how many don’t
Giving feedback is very different than simply reading a story.
Typically, we pick up a book for entertainment or education, not to offer a critical response.
It requires time, not just to read, but to make notes. It takes effort to find errors, plot holes, and common mistakes. And it requires emotional work to offer that feedback in a kind and helpful way.
So if you ask someone for feedback, even if you disagree with what they have to say, be sure to thank them for their generous gift. It's the least you can do.
