My wife is not a fan of the water. Not the water itself but what might be lurking beneath it.
So you can understand how seaweed may not be her favorite thing.
However, she was told it showed signs of a healthy body of water. If the water was polluted, then the seaweed wouldn't grow.
Same with our writing.
Most people aren't happy when they find mistakes in their writing. It doesn't feel perfect.
But finding mistakes means you are learning, growing, and becoming a better writer—you can recognize and correct your errors. You're working towards your vision of what your writing will one day become.
Seaweed or mistakes. It is all a part of a healthy system.
(Yeah, I know this connection was a leap, but the work has to get done daily, no matter what.)
